Challenges:

‍Effyis partnered with a client to implement a Cloud-First strategy by assisting in the selection of applications for cloud adoption, the migration processes, and the optimized management of cloud operations using agile practices inspired by Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).

The goal was to ensure a seamless migration to the cloud while fostering operational efficiency and scalability.

Approach and Actions Taken:

‍We began by developing business cases to identify which existing applications could be migrated to the selected cloud platform, AWS. A comprehensive "Digital Factory" plan was created, involving over 200 teams to ensure smooth implementation across various departments. We worked closely with the client’s teams to manage cloud operations and synchronize with the teams handling the actual migration to AWS and Google Cloud.

A multimodal governance structure was put in place to cover On-Premise, Cloud, and Cybersecurity aspects, ensuring the seamless integration of various IT systems. To further streamline operations, Effyis implemented automation tools through "Infrastructure as Code" and guided the client’s teams in adopting agile methodologies for cloud solution development. Coaching and skill transfer were provided to nurture a culture of change and innovation within the organization.

Results:

‍Effyis successfully deployed a suite of DevOps tools, enabling the client to fully leverage the agility provided by the cloud. Additionally, the client’s teams received hands-on coaching in agile practices, facilitating the smooth transition to cloud-based operations and enhancing the overall development process. This approach ensured that the client could not only migrate successfully but also optimize their cloud operations for long-term sustainability.
